Internet Advancement |
Make sure your unit has accurate records at the council. Internet Advancement allows you to enter youth advancements, awards, and merit badges and perform the following actions: Select members from your existing roster, Review, update, or add ranks, merit badges, and/or awards, Access an online Review Unit Roster feature and the Unit Advancement Summary, Print an Advancement Report with a Unit Awards Summary to assist in purchasing. Role of the Unit Commissioner:
|
Commissioners play several roles, including being a friend, a representative, someone to help insure your unit stays healthy, a teacher and a coach. Their job is to be a liaison between you and the council and to help you keep your unit operating at maximum efficiency by maintaining contact with you to help you find assistance when you need it, help you identify where your unit could be better and give suggestions on ways to remedy weaknesses in your program.
Our job as commissioners is to help you deliver the promise of Scouting to the youth of our district. Look for your Unit commissioner to be more visible around your unit, get to know them, they have a wealth of scouting experience and most of them have been in your shoes as Scouters. Use them as an extra pair of eyes to help you continually evaluate how your unit is working. Ask them for help. Ask them questions. If they don't know the answer, they know where to find it.
The mission of the Great Plains Commissioner Service is "To improve the QUALITY of program in every unit in the District". We are successful when you are successful.

MYSCOUTING |
MYSCOUTING is a portal for unit leaders to do a number of things online that you had to go to the council office to do in the past. This is the place where you can recharter online, submit advancement reports on line and in the future, even apply for your tour permits.
MYSCOUTING is also a place for learning more about Scouting. Fast Start training for new leaders, Youth Protection, Safe Swim Defense, and Safety Afloat are but a few of the courses you can now take online through this portal.
Set up your account and check it out so that you can give your scouts the trained leader they desrve.
